Commis III

The Commis 3 is an entry-level kitchen professional responsible for supporting basic food preparation and daily kitchen operations. This role provides a foundation for developing culinary skills within a structured, high-standard environment. The Commis 3 is expected to demonstrate eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions while contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen. Working within a luxury hotel or fine dining setting, the role requires maintaining discipline, cleanliness, and consistency to support the delivery of high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with mise en place and basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs
  • Follow recipes, portioning, and preparation guidelines to ensure consistency
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, tools, and kitchen areas
  • Adhere strictly to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
  • Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and replenishing supplies
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food items in line with kitchen procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to maintain smooth operations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining kitchen environment preferred
  • Basic kitchen experience and understanding of food preparation techniques
  • Culinary training or certification is an advantage
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
