The Commis 1 is a skilled culinary professional responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while supporting daily kitchen operations at a senior commis level. This role plays a key part in maintaining the standards of luxury dining by delivering consistency, precision, and excellence in food preparation. The Commis 1 is expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of hygiene, safety, and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with premium culinary standards
  • Support menu development by contributing ideas for presentation and innovation
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and portion control
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and service delivery
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage of ingredients
  • Follow kitchen procedures and uphold brand and hygiene standards at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' culinary experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and presentation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
